TOOLS · FROM INSIGHT TO PRACTICE
Get Insights, Get In On AI
Practical utilities to help you take a more deliberate, effective approach to AI.
Assess your starting point, prepare clearer requests, question the answers and learn from real experiments. Use these tools to turn ideas into useful action while keeping your judgement at the centre.
01 · ASSESS YOUR STARTING POINT
Tech Dō assessment
Reflect on how you work with technology and AI. Use the questionnaire to establish a baseline, choose one habit to improve and return in 30 days to review your progress.
Your score supports reflection; it is not a professional certification. Keep your own record of observations alongside it.
02 · PREPARE A BETTER REQUEST
The AI task brief
Before opening a chat, complete this short brief. Copy it into your preferred AI assistant and replace the brackets with your own details.
Task: Help me [specific task].
Context: The audience, situation and relevant constraints are [details].
Inputs: Use the following information [appropriate material].
Result: Produce [format and level of detail].
Quality: A useful answer must [criteria].
Uncertainty: Flag missing information, distinguish facts from assumptions and ask questions when necessary.
Use information you are authorised to share. Review the brief before submitting it.
03 · CHECK BEFORE YOU RELY ON IT
The answer review
Use these questions before an AI response becomes a recommendation, document or decision.
Evidence: Which claims can I verify against an original source?
Assumptions: What has the model assumed about my situation?
Alternatives: What credible option or counterargument is missing?
Consequences: What could happen if the answer is wrong?
Ownership: What do I need to decide or validate myself?
Resolve the material gaps before using the output. A confident tone is not evidence.
04 · FIND OUT WHAT ACTUALLY HELPS
The small experiment record
Choose one recurring task and compare your usual approach with an AI-assisted attempt under similar conditions.
Task and desired outcome: [What am I trying to achieve?]
Baseline: [Time, quality and effort without the new approach.]
Change tested: [What did I ask AI to help with?]
Result: [What improved, and what needed correction?]
Review effort: [How much checking and rework was required?]
Next decision: [Keep, adjust or stop this approach—and why?]
Look at the quality of the final result as well as the time spent. One attempt is a useful observation, not proof of a general benefit.
